I am so happy to blog today because I am so deeply thankful!
Today I have witnessed a HUGE miracle and my heart is full of gratitude. When I arrived at the hospital today Emerson was up to 30 cc’s on his feeds every four hours and TOLERATING IT well. The Dr.s, nurses and we of course are completely astonished at his progress. They told me that this simply does not happen and are amazed at what they have seen. I know more than ever that Heavenly Father has inspired the surgeon to not do surgery. When every other Dr. and surgeon was telling him to go in he held his ground and said, “No I have a feeling that I want to try and feed him one last time.” This happened right at the last minute before his scheduled surgery. His surgery was scheduled for 11:30; he had his spot in the operating room and right when they were ready to take him down at 11:25 the surgeon made his decision. The surgery was canceled 5 minutes before sending him to the operating room and feeds were started the next day. We are on day 6 at 30 cc’s every 4 hours and he is tolerating them well. Today it hit me so hard and I started crying when I changed his poopy diaper. You heard me right I was hysterically crying and grateful for a poopy diaper. Things are moving through his system and his intestines are working properly. I have always believed in miracles but now I know that Miracles happen around us all of the time. Over the past 8 weeks I have witnessed a Miracle, Heavenly Father gently healing my sweet little baby boy.
Miracles
"A miracle is an extraordinary event caused by the power of God. Miracles are an important element in the work of Jesus Christ. They include healings, restoring the dead to life, and resurrection. Miracles are a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith is necessary in order for miracles to be manifested"
I was quickly reminded of Moroni 7 and had to re- read this chapter.
26 And after that he came men also were asaved by faith in his name; and by faith, they become the bsons of God. And as surely as Christ liveth he spake these words unto our fathers, saying: cWhatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto you.
27 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, have amiracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven, and hath sat down on the right hand of God, to bclaim of the Father his rights of mercy which he hath upon the children of men?
28 For he hath answered the ends of the law, and he claimeth all those who have faith in him; and they who have faith in him will acleave unto every good thing; wherefore he badvocateth the cause of the children of men; and he dwelleth eternally in the heavens.
29 And because he hath done this, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have aangels ceased to minister unto the children of men.
Our Heavenly Father does perform Miracles on the earth today and through faith we can recognize and receive these great blessings.
A quote from our great Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson:
“Miracles are everywhere to be found when priesthood callings are magnified. When faith replaces doubt, when selfless service eliminates selfish striving, the power of God brings to pass His purposes. Whom God calls, God qualifies.”
