Simple Lil Thing

Shout Hooray

David had his 27th birthday and poor guy had to spend it all day at school . The boy's are always excited to see Daddy when he gets home from school but this Day was particularly exciting. It was his birthday and we had spent most of the day preparing . I let the boys each pick out presents they thought David would love and they wrapped them all by themselves. Then we baked him a special cake and Stratton and Emerson were ready to celebrate.

I found Stratton waiting patiently for David while watching through the peephole. I thought it was priceless . He knows he is not allowed to go outside in the front and so this was the closest he could get to seeing David come home.

The boys wanted to play out front and wait for David so we all decided to play in the front yard till he got home .

Emerson is so cute with his expressions. He makes the cutest faces and I can't get enough of it. Lately he has developed quite a fear of bugs . In these pictures he is pointing at an ant ...saying , "ohhhh , look". I was in the bath the other day with Charlotte and Emerson of course was in the room talking to me when he all of the sudden pointed at the bath and screamed . I thought there must have been a giant spider climbing toward me so I stood up as fast as I could and on the edge of the bath was a spider the size of a pea . I got out , found  a shoe and tried killing it but it got away was stuck in the crack. Emerson thinking he would be brave grabbed the shoe and started hitting random places on the floor. Suddenly he started screaming so loud and stomping his feet . It sounded like he was being tortured yet the spider had just started crawling toward him . He is still talking about the spider and how scary it was.

The boys and I made a cute card with a fly on the front and a frog in the middle and it said :
" Hop on over to my pad because I have the world's greatest Dad "
Emerson loved the card because the tongue would pop out when you opened it .
David , we love you so much !
Thank you for being the most incredible Husband and Dad .
I love this picture because It couldn't show better our crazy life. David is in school trying to study hard and both boys are on his back wrestling. He is as calm as a cucumber and way more patient then I will ever be.
When picking out David's gifts at Target as we were checking out Stratton told the cashier that it was his Dad's birthday . He said , " Yeah I have the greatest Dad because everyday he puts me up high".

I love it that he was so proud to say that he had the greatest Dad and over something so simple that David makes the effort to do .
When David gets home from work or school and I am sure he is exhausted he always makes the effort to play with the boys. Before he even takes off his shoes Stratton asks him if he will put him up high. David takes the time to walk around the house with Stratton and Emerson on his shoulders and lets them touch everything that is high. They really think it is just about the greatest thing in the world to be high on their Daddy's shoulders.
