Kydin's Baptism

Kydin my sister's youngest child got baptized this weekend . I can hardly believe that he is already 8 and getting baptized . We are so thankful for the example that Kydin is setting for our kids . I love taking my boys to baptisms and especially baptisms of those they look up to . It makes their choice to be baptized that much easier when the time comes. They recently moved out to linden and got a gator and the boys loved riding that around their property. At any given time in the mornings and evenings they are able to shine a spotlight into there back yard and elk will be grazing around their property. I love that they get to be right in the middle of the forest with little to no distractions around them . They have already caught a turkey buzzard and a fox. There are coyotes  all around and they see elk every day . This is like every boys dream , exploring the forest around them and setting live traps .

Before Kydin's baptism we spent some time having fun with cousin's on my side of the family .
I love this picture of Stratton pushing Charlotte in the baby doll stroller.

Back at the cabin while on a walk the boys found a makeshift sling shot out of this post. It was fun to watch them launch sticks and rocks and occupied a good hour .
This weekend we also spent a couple days at my sister Krista's house and we left there with a baby Rabbit . Stratton has been wanting a pet of his very own to love and care for and when my sister offered a bunny rabbit he immediately had his mind set on the idea . At the cabin after setting up the bunny cage I was feeling bad that Stratton's rabbit didn't have a friend and I decided to get a second bunny from the pet store. Now we have two rabbits a tiny tan one for Emerson and a small black one for Stratton. Both boys hold them non-stop and if a rabbit could be over handled then that might just be what is happening. I tried to put together a make shift exercise pen on the lawn in the front of the cabin but it was much harder then I had anticipated. Chicken wire is a pain to work with and so the rabbit pen was very small and needless to say not very strong. It worked but luckily it was only temporary .
Barbara loved the boys rabbits. She has a soft spot for rabbits and had them when she was young as well. She had a black one just like Strattons and named him "Thumper" .  Stratton named his newspaper . I think it was one of those things that he looked around him and came up with the first thing he saw a " newspaper" . I have kind of grown accustom to the name :)
Working with chicken wire is much harder then I had imagined. Next time I will wear long pants and have a heavy duty pair of gloves on hand.

We didn't want the rabbits to get out so to ensure a certain someone wouldn't open the cage we bought 2 locks for the cage doors. Stratton loved having his own key and lock for the cage. He took it very seriously in unlocking the locks for people.

That "exercise" area is awesome, ha ha. You are a nice mom to get rabbits, they are a lot of work!
