A Glimpse of You

Here are some long awaited pictures that I have been meaning to post . These will take you through a summarized journey of Emerson's first 6 weeks of life.

An Ultra Sound just a week and a half before Emerson was born.

Emerson waving to the camera. This is one of my favorite pictures he was doing so well. The nurses had just removed his IV and dressed him in his first outfit. This was on January 25, 2010 just one day before he got sick with NEC. When they transferred him to St. Joseph's hospital from Chandler I was in tears and they handed me this outfit. I will always Cherish and love this tiny little vest. It wasn't just cute but it meant progression and any progression in the NICU is a big accomplishment.
David's first time holding Emerson they both needed this time together. It was so amazing every day prior during this week that I held Emerson he would desat. Right when he was placed into David's arms he was so comfortable and his vitals couldn't have been more picture perfect.
He loves his Daddy.

This is the January 27 Emerson was diagnosed with NEC and not doing very well. All we can do is PLEAD with our Heavenly Father to keep him comfortable. This picture is still very hard for me to look at my poor baby boy with everything keeping him alive and I couldn't do anything to help him.

Shortly after the transfer to St. Joseph's Hospital . I was so worried about the transfer to this huge hospital and worried half to death that my little baby wouldn't be loved in such a big unit. The NICU in Chandler had 10 babies and Emerson was going to be 1 of 60 babies at St. Joseph's NICU. I begged and pleaded with Heavenly Father to find just one nurse that would love and attach to my baby boy. My prayer was answered and I can tell you today that Emerson is not short of love in his new home. The nurses fight over who gets him and they all love him to peices. I knew this was where he needed to be , with surgeons near by and a higher level of care was what he needed. Notice his belly in this picture it is very distended, red and what the Dr.s called,
"a very sick belly" The first day that I saw Emerson without a single tube on his face. This didn't last too long he had extabated himself and I snapped a shot and then he was quickly put back on the ventilator.
He is one handsome little baby.
Febuary 9, This picture is shortly after Emerson's heart surgery he had a large PDA which was affecting his breathing and overall health and so they did surgery to close it up. It is called a PDA Ligation.
Me loving every second that I get to hold my baby boy.

It has been a long and very hard struggle for Emerson and he is still fighting.
