"Children Learn By Doing, And Play Is Their Work"
On Average Stratton cracks me up about 5 times each day . I can not get enough of him; he keeps me smiling and laughing at all of his little quirky adorable tendencies. His imagination is unbelievable and me being a very realistic person he often reminds me that it is ok to dream and imagine things that in reality would never happen. It is so funny to see him say and do things that he has obviously seen me do .

While seated at Denny's waiting for our food to be brought to the table Stratton quickly shouts out, "Mom, I have to go poop" ( why is it that kids do not care where or when they have to poop they feel it is perfectly acceptable to shout it to the whole world?)
While everyone at this point is staring our way in the restaurant I quietly tell Stratton who is sitting across the table shh...and he needs to hold it for a minute.
Stratton looks up at me with a strange glare on his little face and just as loud of voice he says , "Mom , you tell me to hold it ? How Rude!"
I couldn't help but laugh and so did most the people at the surrounding tables . It was so funny that at such a young age he could feel so hurt by me telling him to hold his poop.
Just Yesterday...
I am still laughing at what he said !
I just got done doing the dishes and was sitting on the couch drinking water and trying to relax before I had to start folding the laundry. Stratton looks at me and says ," Mom , I got a question?" I said sure and he says in his cute little voice , " do me a favor? Please , mom do me a favor ?" I asked him what he needed and he replied ," pick my jacket up my favorite and take it to my room? " then it began I took his jacket to his room and one favor became the next and the next and the next . After I would complete each favor he would politely say , " thank you Mom, thank you".
I finally found refuge in the computer room where David was working and I broke into laughter while telling David how funny Stratton is. At that moment I remembered as a child how much I hated having to do favor after favor of tiny tasks for my parents and 6 older sibling. Stratton reminded me of the torture that I am obviously putting him through. Kids have important things to do while playing and imagining. Stratton honestly believes that he is very important in his workforce and is a very busy boy. The computer will not be on and he will imagine he is working for hours on end. Plastic money is his reward for his hard work and thinks very highly of his laminated money. Who am I to intterupt his hard imaginative work for my tedious little favors that really don't need to get done.

He is so cute, what great memories of his little self for you to look back and remember when he's older.
