Catching up

I have quite a bit to catch up on from Christmas to New Years till now .

This year for Christmas David and I decided we would go up to Show Low a couple days early and then plan on spending the Christmas holiday with family in the mountains. We did just that and two days before Christmas we went to the cabin. There was a serious need for some Christmas spirit at the cabin so I went on a search for a tree.I was very lucky and found a tree last minute at Home Depot . I have no experience buying Christmas trees and it was a much harder decision then I thought it would be. To my surprise there were actually three different species to choose from . I was really just going for a pretty yet cheap tree after all the tree would only be up for give or take maybe four days. Well I found one that was just that it was pretty and the price tag said $30.00 . I noticed that it didn't have a top and told the man that I really liked this tree but it doesn't have a top can I get any discount because what is a Christmas tree without a top . He hummed and haaaed and then said he would take off $10.00 due to the lack of top . I was so excited and immediately bought the tree. I couldn't wait to get back to the cabin and decorate so I bought pink and silver bulbs and a silver bow to place near the top. It turned out just perfect and brought a little Christmas spirit to the cabin.

Santa Clause brought Stratton a kitchen for Christmas and he absolutely adores it!
He has been cooking for me non stop ever since . He asks me over and over again , Mom what you want .
While we are talking about Stratton taking my order over and over and over it reminds me of why I can't stop laughing. David recently was telling me a story about his sister Audra and Brother in law Justin doing a psychology experiment in the mall . Well if you know the story you will get why I think this is so funny. Stratton must have been listening to David's story because he is now repeating one of the lines.
Stratton will say to me , " What you want cou"
lol ...so funny . I can't help but break into laughter every time he says it!

The kitchen is cute it is an indoor outdoor kitchen. On one side it has a barbecue grill and the other side it has a indoor kitchen . Here is Stratton peaking through the small window that splits the two.

Transformers...gotta love the black friday deals I fought for these at Target at 4 in the morning
Ok, just in case you didn't know I am the worst worst worst gift giver as well as gift recipient. I don't like surprises I never have and as long as I can remember I have been peeking at my Christmas and birthday gifts. I always with out fail tell David exactly what he is getting long before the holiday comes. Well this year let me say I am so proud of myself I actually surprised David with a gift that he whole heartdly loves and had no idea I got him. I got him a Ruger .380 hand gun. I ordered it , picked it up and paid for it in cash so he wouldn't find out . I was so nervous going and picking it up . Here I am buying a hand gun with while carrying two kids. The entire drive to the fire arms store I was repeating the name and type of gun in my head. It would have been really embarrassing if I had no idea what gun I just had bought . Believe it or not I did pretty good . I showed up carrying two kids with my concealed weapons permit in hand and tried to look like I knew exactly what I was doing.

David was very surprised and this was his expression when he opened his gift.

How fun! Your family is so cute! I'll bet David was thrilled to have you get that for him!
What a fun fun kitchen for Stratton. I can totally see him playing with it!
