In The Know...

April has come and gone and I successfully have not posted a single blog entry . I have an all or nothing personality and this month it has been too overwhelming to catch up. I recognize the importance of journal-ling and for the sake of my children I am going to blog about the entire month in one post.

Our month began with family pictures . All of the Ellsworth family met at Dean and Barbara's house for a huge family picture get together. It was stressful but satisfying ...look at the smiles.
Children simply don't have a care in the world. Stratton and Adaira were entertaining themselves on the swing.

Stratton and Emerson are drawn to the lawn mower. The highlight of going to Grandma and Grandpa's is ATV rides and playing on the lawn mower. Emerson in particular this night decided he wanted to climb up on the lawn mower all by himself. I let him do it knowing that he very well could fall off. I figured the grass called for a soft landing. Well through out the course of the evening Emerson fell at least three times. He just couldn't stay away and thought he was so cool riding the lawn mower.
If you look closely you can see the dirt all over Emerson's face from his falls.
Stratton got to pick a toy out for summer and he decided a snorkel was the winner.
I was really impressed how well Stratton uses the snorkel. He understands exactly how it works and will keep his head under water for five minutes or so . This summer I am going to put Stratton in swimming lessons and I thought a snorkel would be a great stepping stone to learning to put his head under water.
We spent the weekend up in Show low with David's parents during general conference. We took a little walk over to Uncle Dale and Aunt Margie's cabin and I saw a moment that I never wanted to forget.
Stratton walking with Dean and Barbara!
We all appreciate and love Dean and Barbara so much and Stratton is so attached to both of him. I want him to always remember the love and closeness he has with them.

Stratton amazes me everyday with his imagination. He has always has had the biggest most creative imagination and I just happen to capture this one with a picture. It is every single day that he comes up with something new. Barbara asked me recently if I wanted her to talk to the MCC Psychology teacher about Stratton's imaginary friends and such. I politely declined and later found out that it is quite healthy for children to pretend.

Stratton found the toilet seat cover and a dog leash and the whole weekend he pretended that he had a pet dog. He would drag it around the cabin asking each of us if we wanted to pet it and warning that his dog might lick us.
Stratton brought the bottom of his chair out into the living room posed in it and asked me to take his picture.
Emerson of course had to join in on the fun...

Stratton is getting SO big! Seeing him with Dean and Barbara, he just looked so tall and grown up! It's so crazy to think he's not so little any more.
I love the toilet seat cover and leash, what a fun idea his mind came up with! I love it!
And Stratton has the best smile! I always say, you can tell which kids have parents that take lots of pictures of them because of how much they like pictures in general and how well they smile for you.
What darling little ones you have! So cute!
And that picture with you and Emerson eating at dinner after the family pictures and dinner, I love. You are so beautiful there! What a great profile shot!
