A Little Dirt Never Hurt

A little dirt never hurt ... if I might add that a little rain sure wouldn't hurt either.

This year at Kinder Springs was very very dry. You combine ATV'S , vehicles , walking down the road and dry whether at Kinder Springs and you get MEGA dust! Nevertheless , Kinder Springs was a blast once again . I love going camping here and I always look forward to the following year when we will return. I think I love it so much because David and his entire family just adore this place . They have a lifetime of memories at Kinder Springs and watching them reminiscence about all the fun times a person can't help but smile. The smiles and laughter that I see when David tells our kids about his many years of camping at this beautiful place makes me love and look forward to so many more years that we will share with our own family camping at Kinder Springs.

I didn't pull out my camera nearly as much as I should have this year and I am already regretting it. It seemed like so much trouble at the time. With Emerson learning to walk on two feet, uneven ground was not his friend . He did really well half of the time but the other 50% he would be stumbling and falling either on the rocky ground or 3 feet out the front door of the camping trailer. Poor guy had a black eye and scrapes all over his little body by the end of the trip.

Stratton on the other hand couldn't have been at a better age to enjoy camping . He loved it and I think would prefer to live that way for the rest of all time. He ran around with his older cousins and just fit right in . I often would wonder where Stratton was because he would just take off through the woods with the older kids without saying a word David and I .

This year was the first year that I had ever been to this Dam and it was really neat to get that close to such a huge Dam . Looking up it seemed like it would go on forever . Here David is admiring just how high it really is. The hike down to the creek and bottom was kinda wearing carrying Emerson on the way down and then we switched and I carried Stratton on the way up . What a workout !

Kinder Springs! We're so jealous! If we could plan it in May next year, Duane may be able get time off work to go (though DJ's kids may not be finished with school in time...). We'll see... As it is, we plan to visit AZ for Thanksgiving this year, I think.

That's so cool that you enjoy the joy of others Marisa. I could see how it wouldn't seem like such a great place for someone who didn't grow up going there, since there isn't a water source, we can't even camp in the meadow, etc... I'd like to think I'd feel the same way about a place Justin had fond memories of, but I'm not sure I would if it were so inconvenient. You are such a great wife, mother, and sister in law!
