We Missed U 2

Our vacation to Alaska was fantastic and coming home was just as great ! I was so worried about being gone from the kids for 10 days. Between the time we dropped them off and picked them up it was 10 days. This was by far the longest I have ever been away from the boys and I couldn't imagine how I was going to deal with it. It really was hard and especially because I wasn't able to talk and communicate with them everyday that I was gone. I was sure that they had thought their parents forgot about them .
My sister Krista so kindly offered to watch Stratton and Emerson long before we had even a date set for the cruise. I honestly couldn't have pictured a place where the kids would be more occupied with fun and outside entertainment then at my sisters house. Growing up Woodruff , where my sister lives was always a fun place that I retreated to for fun. I knew that my kids would have a blast, but a small part of me thought how are they going to make it with out their mama. The first day when we dropped them off quickly proved me wrong when Stratton and Emerson both were so occupied when we left that they could hardly stop to give us a kiss good bye. They were both so happy to finally be at Aunt Krista's house. Weeks leading up to the cruise Stratton just kept telling me , " just take me Mom, take me to Krista's " . The time was finally here and Stratton was so thrilled. I on the other hand spent the first hour of our trip back to the valley in tears. I thought what am I going to do for 10 days without my sweet little boys . Their my buddies ...my whole life.
When I talked to my sister on the phone during our trip it helped so much . She had nothing but positive things to say . The second day when I talked to her she told me how great my boys were and how happy they made her. Hearing this made me cry and I felt like I could relax and be assured that both Krista and Stratton and Emerson were all going to make it through the week . My sister has the most perfect kids and I had been worried that my boys were going to be a handful for her . I wrote out there full schedule and was ultra paranoid how they might act . I know they are good boys but I guess I was just worried they would act like a three and one year old. . . with crying and fits every now and then. It was very reassuring to know that the two of them were a joy, making her smile and being the sweet little boys that I know and love.
Needless to say , I survived and so did they . . . they loved it and couldn't have had a better time.
While I was gone , Emerson learned how to moo like a cow and might I add it is the cutest thing ever. He concentrates on it so hard and really does sound like a cow. Stratton still a few months later will tell me that I look like a princess just like Ellie ( Ellie is his cousin) . Stratton wants to go back and visit all of the time and asked if we could live in Woodruff next to Aunt Krista .
Thank you Krista for taking such GREAT care of my two little boys .

When we got to Krista's to pick them up Stratton was on a bike ride with Krista and Emerson was sound asleep. I really couldn't help it and had to rush in and wake Emerson up. I wanted to surprise him and see his reaction . Sleepy but happy to see his Mama and Daddy.
We waited for Stratton to come back from his bike ride and watched from behind a tree . When I saw him coming down the street I quickly hid and got ready to jump out and surprise him. He was too funny when he saw us , he was trying to act like he didn't see us and with a huge smile on his face couldn't help but run and give me a big hug.
We love you two boys and missed you more than you will ever know.
