Money Matters

David and I in July made the decision to move back in with his parents. It was the smartest financial decision we could possibly make. We both prayed about it and talked to his parents to see what they thought and in the end it really is such a blessing . Living in our apartment we were paying $1300.00 a month for rent and utilities . Our lease was coming to an end and the complex wanted to increase our rent a couple hundred more dollars. Well for a 900 square foot apartment that is a lot of money to be paying each month when we are trying to save for a house and will begin looking seriously after taxes are filled in January 2012.
It seems kind of ridiculous to me but because David has his own buisness the bank requires us to show two years of tax returns before even considering us for a mortgage loan . If you do not have your own business 6 months proof is sufficient. So of course a little irritating for us but what can you do ? We have had the opprotunity to save enough money for 20% down and this will help us get a nice house for our needs and a mortgage that we can afford. It is such a blessing that we are able to live with Dean and Barbara for the next 8 months and save an additional 10 thousand that we could have spent on rent for a little apartment.
Our kids love it here and love waking up each morning to see Grandma and Grandpa and run out side and play . I forget how nice it is to have a yard for the kids to explore and play. I appreciate so much Dean and Barbara's kindness and patience with our little family.

Stratton has his sword and found an old sheath that it fits into perfectly . The back yard often becomes what Stratton pretends is scary land. We venture out back with our guns and swords through dark tunnels and over hills and look for anything scary . Stratton has been watching the super hero cartoons lately and is caught up on super powers.
