Boys

Stratton and I were cuddling on the couch the other day when he said, " Mom can I ask you a question? " I of course said , " Yes " , and he continued on to say ...

" Why do girls have boobies ?"

My immediate response was to tell him that girls need boobies so we can feed our babies. Stratton thinking about it for a minute says, " yeah but I have boobies too ,they are just much shorter".

I couldn't help but laugh and agree with his response. Isn't it funny the things that kids recognize and the reality of how much us women sacrifice our bodies for our babies. I have been thinking lately how odd it is that as Moms we get fat when we are pregnant just to work out extra hard to get skinny again and then we are willing to start all over. We sacrifice our beautiful skin to what now looks like a zebra stripped belly on me and Stratton is right my boobies now are long and hang much lower then his. The dark circles under our eyes are from many sleepless nights and stressful days .

Somehow through my understanding of Heavenly Father's plan none of these things seem to matter. My long term perspective leaves me smiling and laughing each day with my two boys . I can't help but love each of them for exactly who they are. It is funny how both boys our mine yet they are so different . We were outside playing in the yard the other day and as I was looking at the two of them I realized more then ever just how different they were. Stratton was on the hill with one of his baby dolls zipped up in the front of his vest . He was talking to her and making sure she wasn't too cold as he walked her around the yard. Then I see Emerson with his shirt off playing in the dirt and a baseball cap on his head. Heavenly Father sent both boys to me to love , watch over, protect and teach and he sent them to me just the way they were before they came to this earth .

Isn't Heavenly Fathers plan for each of us so remarkable?

I can hardly believe how big Emerson is! He looks so much like Stratton it's crazy!
We do sacrifice a lot for our wonderful children, don't we? Very humbling for sure. Can't wait to see you!!!!!
