Leaves

I decided that I am really going to try and journal our lives this coming year. I have gotten inspired by so many others who are setting the goal of "Project Life" . I love pictures and looking back and remembering just how much fun the different ages and stages of life were. So each week I am going to make an honest effort to pull out my camera and take everyday pictures of my children just being themselves.
Today the boys and I were enjoying the beautiful fall leaves outside.

They would both pick up a handful of leaves and chase me around the yard . I can't tell you how good it feels to be able to run and chase with my kids again . For the last several months I have not been able to do much due to pregnancy . It put a smile on all of our faces to be outside playing together again.
Stratton fell down while Emerson and I were trying to catch him. . . He was a pretty easy tickle target on his back.
While climbing the hill Emerson was sure he found a snake hole . He stayed up on top of the hill for a good 20 minutes digging saying over and over , " oh wow , hole" .

I finally figured it out , for the last several weeks Stratton has been struggling with getting a natural smile with no hands in the picture. Immediately when I say smile he throws his hands up by his head in some strange way . I could not understand what had happened and then I realized. On picture day during preschool Stratton did what he thought was a great smile yet it must have been a bit cheesy and his teacher said don't smile like that . Since then Stratton's smiles for pictures are a little different then normal and most of them are anything but natural.

Emerson was having such a great time chasing me with leaves . He was laughing and smiling , that quickly changed when he and I both stepped into something ultra squishy. Emerson without shoes on and I luckily had shoes but we both managed to stepp into a big pile of dog diarrhea . So disgusting and Emerson thought the same thing when he looked down and immediately started crying in hysterics. It was smashed all between his toes and covered his little bare foot. Yuck ! Stratton thought it was too funny and laughed as he directed us over to the hose so he could clean our feet off.

Dog diarrhea?! Blegh, that's just so gross, but so funny to read about!
