Preschool

For the next several posts I am going back to last year and catching up on a few things that I want to include in our family blog book.

The first thing that I of course don't want to forget is Stratton's first day of preschool . In August Stratton had his first day and boy did he love the entire 8 weeks that he had school . It was so great for him to have two days a week for two hours of Stratton time. He loved that he got to be his independent little self and do something on his own . He made friends and was so proud of all of the neat art projects that he created and brought home. Every time when I would pick him up I would ask what he learned and did in school that day . He would say , " Mom , wait till we get in the car and then I will tell you" . Here are a few pictures of Stratton the course of his eight week pre-school session .

A funny story that I will never forget is ...
One afternoon I picked Stratton up from school and his teacher politely told me that Stratton had a rough morning . She told me that while doing their craft and using the small pom pom's Stratton stuck one up his nose and they had to get it out with tweezers. She said he had kind of panicked and was sad while they were doing this. I was very surprised that Stratton would do something like this and immediately thought that he must have been influenced by another child. Stratton is very cautious and would never think of doing something crazy , really just out of character for Stratton to put something so small up his nose. I thought oh great my child is always going to be known for the one that put a pom pom up his nose. I didn't want to make a big deal about it when I got in the car and so I didn't say much to Stratton about it and waited till he wanted to talk about it. He never said anything but as I got to thinking why he would do such a thing I suddenly figured it out. It was me , I was the one that influenced him in sucking a pom pom into his nose. That day before school we were a few minutes early and while we waited together on the bench Stratton had picked a couple of flowers off the tree for me . While I was smelling them I was being funny and sucking them onto my nose and them pretending to sneeze them off. Evidently Stratton tried the same thing during class with a pom pom ...what a good example I am right?
Stratton and Mckenna were in the same preschool class . It was so great that their first experience in preschool started out together. They are in the same primary class and also Kara Mckenna's mom and I are good friends and we do play dates with the kiddos . Every time I would ask Stratton who he played with in class he would always say Mckenna .

Fast forward eight weeks and Stratton completed his class. They had a performance where they all got on stage and sang several songs . This is Stratton so proud during his performance and then afterward he is showing off his certificate .
