I really can't believe that Emerson is two years old already . We celebrated his birthday with what he absolutely loves most ...TRACTORS . Emerson loves tractors and trucks right now. He keeps his eye out for trucks and tractors every time we are driving in the car and will talk about them for the next several days. Recently he had a very traumatizing experience . He was swinging outside on the tire swing and I was inside feeding Charlotte. I heard him crying outside and had Stratton go and check on him . Stratton went outside and when he came back in I asked him why Emerson was crying . Stratton claimed that Emerson just wanted him to swing him higher on the tire swing. I thought that could be quite possibly the reason why he was crying and I continued to feed Charlotte . I heard him a few minutes later start screaming again and so I went outside and found him hysterical on the swing . He buried his head in my shoulder and traumatized kept saying big truck . There was a garbage truck driving in the alley way behind Dean and Barbara's house . He could only hear the loud noise and see the top of it and it terrified him . He is still talking about this garbage truck. It is very much a love hate relationship . Emerson loves trucks but isn't too sure about the loud noises they make.
On Emerson's birthday Stratton and I went to Target and found him a few presents . It was hard for Stratton to get the concept that Emerson was having a special day and we were only getting presents for him. Stratton couldn't quite understand why Emerson was getting presents but he couldn't pick one out for him self . The rest of the evening Stratton sat on the couch with a sad look on his face and when you would ask him what was wrong he would say , " I having a hard day". Luckily Emerson was so nice and shared all of his tractors with Stratton .
I thought it would be fun to make a small construction sight with the tractors . I wanted to create something that my boys could use their imagination with . So I found a long shallow tupperware box and filled it with some soft potting soil that we had. I broke up popsiccle sticks in smaller peices so they could fit into the dump trucks . My boys will play with this for at least an hour at a time . Which is pretty good considering they tend to get bored of things easy . I found it is great too because I love watching them play with no fighting ...amazing and rare with the two of them.
Emerson is at a fun age . He will repeat most anything you ask him to say and has such a sweet little voice while doing it . He is very tender hearted and loves his daddy . It is funny, I can tell him no on anything but if David says no to him about the smallest thing he breaks into tears and is literally heartbroken. It is so sweet how much he is drawn to David and wants to do everything he does.

I can't believe he is already two and I can't imagine life without him! He has such a sweet spirit and is always happy . Emerson we love you and are so happy Heavenly Father sent you to us.

What a sweet boy Emerson is! He is so handsome. I love what you made for him too! Tristen would die to have all those tractors. I love that you had Stratton go with you to pick something up for Emerson's birthday. It's fun for siblings to pick things out I think and it helps them understand sharing.
