Simple Lil Thing: Imagine Someday

Today I can't help but think what a wonderful Dad Stratton will be someday . I know it seems strange to think that my 3 year old is going to be a Dad but Stratton is probably the most caring , loving and nurturing child that I know. I am biased and I get that, but Stratton cares so much about other people whether they are imaginary people or real. With Charlotte new in our family , I notice even more how much he loves to help and take care of others . Stratton loves Charlotte and takes very good care of her. I never have to remind him to wash his hands and trust me anyone that comes near her he makes sure they wash their hands even if they are just looking at her. If anyone stops by the house including the UPS man Stratton comes running up to me and tells me to show them my baby . He wanted to bring Charlotte to his preschool class for show and tell which we haven't done but he keeps reminding me that the kids in his class really want to see her. I know it is natural for little girls to be crazy about babies but I think it is great that Stratton is too. He is going to be an excellent Husband and Father someday !
One other quick story about Stratton that I would like to remember. Grandpa Dean was sitting on the couch the other evening when Stratton and Emerson both went up to talk to him . Emerson stepped on Dean's foot and because he has been suffering from Gout lately it hurt badly . He told the boys to be careful of his feet because they hurt. Stratton thought about it for a few seconds and then said to Grandpa , " Don't you know we get a brand new body when we die" ? Then later as we were walking down the stairs Stratton asked me, " Mom, is Grandpa going to be ok" ? I think it is so great that he cares about other people so much and has empathy for others. This will be something that will always be useful to him and doesn't just come naturally for many people.
