Barbara's brother had his funeral today and it was a neat experience to
attend a funeral of a Veteran. They had fellow Veteran's do the 21 gun salute
with 7 Veterans stand in a line and fire their guns each 3 times. I had never
been to a ceremony like this and it was very touching. I had a special place
for JP in my heart since we had lived with JP the last time we were at Barbara
and Dean’s. I would often take him places with me and enjoyed his company and
all of his funny little sayings. One thing that I remember him saying often was
“Don’t shoot “as he would put both hands in the air. He was a sweet heart when
I knew him and I am happy I got to know him when I did.
This is my all time favorite Picture and I can't look at it without giggling . I
though I would share it and hopefully it will put a smile on your face too. We
were absolutely sure Barbara was crazy when she informed us that she was taking
JP ( her 87 year old brother) on a roller coaster. I can vouch that this roller
coaster was very scary because guess who went on it with him .....ME! Put it
this way I was the only one screaming ! Throughout the ride I continuously asked
JP if he was OK and he would say yes. David and I thought that this wasn't such
a good idea and could quite possibly end badly. The lesson learned here is
despite his facial expression in the picture he had a great time and remember to
always live every day like it is your last.
