A Tegu

I had an exciting purchase on Craigslist this past week.  It wasn't because I got a great deal or the item I bought was extraordinary. It was what the guy had in his truck after he helped me unload the bed. I sold the boys old bunk bed and got another one. The one I found was 45 miles away so I kind of wrote the whole idea off but the guy that was selling it offered to deliver it for no extra charge. I was excited already! This bunk bed doesn't have a ladder and has built in stairs on the side instead. It also is very heavy and sturdy wood and has 6 built in dresser drawers which I love! The last dresser I got for the boys was from our apartment dumpster and the drawers never did work properly. I have found that there is always a reason why someone else got rid of something that looked pretty nice. Usually there is a mechanical problem with it and it doesn't work properly. I liked it for the time we used it but I was ready for an all in one feature. It has a built in bed, stairs with no ladder and a dresser all in one. It is perfect and I love it! The guy helped me unload the bed and when we were saying thank you and good bye he asked if my boys wanted to see a lizard. I said I am sure they would love that and he went to his truck and brought out this huge lizard. It is a Tegu and originally from Chili. He is their pet and had been for several years. They had a harness on it and walked it like it was one of their dogs. My boys surprisingly were not scared at all and took turns holding it. They are usually pretty cautious and so it was nice seeing them let their guard down a little.

I don't think the boys were expecting the lizard to be this big !

The guy asked David if he wanted to hold it and he politely declined right as the man put it in his arms. I had to hurry and snap this picture.
