Tonight while looking through pictures I found a few that I can't help
but think will one day be cherished memories in our house. I know that
these pictures in this post will be kept very close to our hearts.
While living at the Ellsworth’s at any given time if I can’t
find my children I know right where they are … upstairs with Grandma and
Grandpa! They are drawn to them and I love that Dean and Barbara love my kids
just as much as they love them. They take the time to stop and talk and listen
to them and make them feel special. Grandma gives big hugs everyday and Grandpa’s
cookies taste so much better than any other cookies.
While talking to Stratton I asked him if he
wanted to buy a house? Stratton replied
with a hesitant “ yeah “ and then later after thinking about it for a
while he said , “ Mom , I want to get a house but don’t you think it is much
better to just go upstairs and say hi to Grandma and Grandpa ?” I love that they are so close to David’s
parents and have no other cares in the world except they want to be surrounded
by the people that love them the most.
Here is a picture of Emerson that I really just want to blow up
and hang in his room. It is priceless!! ! He saw Grandpa sitting on the swing
outside and so went out and sat on the swing and talked with him about who
knows what. They sat there on the swing while I watched and enjoyed taking pictures through the glass door.
Early in September Dean came home from a day out with one of his cousins . In making conversation he began showing us pictures and telling us about his Grandfather's house that was for sale on MLS . His cousin and him had gone that morning with a real estate agent and toured the house that they had spent a great part of their childhood visiting . David and I while looking at the listing on the Internet felt quite sad that we hadn't even known the house still stood in the same location and also we both wished that we would have been able to go and walk through it that morning with his Dad. Dean made arrangements for the family to meet there at 4 that afternoon and were were able to walk through while he told us of stories when he was a child . I know that David and I will always cherish the memories that he shared with us .
This is his Grandfather's house and where he and his brothers would play a game where they would toss a ball over the roof to the other side . There is also a tree nearby where he got stung by a bunch of wasps. OUCH!
This the basement and Dean told us a story that when he was young and got electrocuted trying to help his cousin . The stairs in this basement were so steep and they had no railing . He said his Grandmother kept most of her canning storage down here.
The kids and Grandpa in front of the old fireplace . They would always spend Christmas at their Grandparent's and sleep on the ground near the fireplace waiting for Santa .
Boys will always manage to find something to climb where ever they are !
