Last week David and I spent several days at the cabin. I loved every bit of it: the snow , our kids getting all bundled for the cold , ATV rides , the warm fire and best of all the smiles on Stratton and Emerson faces. They love going to the cabin and being able to freely run and play inside and outside. It was an incredible weekend and just what the four of us needed before David starts school this semester. It was our last big hooray before the struggle of finding a balance for school , work, family and play begins . I love living in the valley but often I will sit back and think of so many memories and adventures that I had living in the small town of pinetop. I yearn for my kids to be able to have similar memories of their childhood . The cabin gives us the opportunity to create such memories with our children. I am so thankful that Barbara and Dean so lovingly share this with each of us. Thank you so much for your generosity and building a beautiful place for all of us to grow closer together.

We found this sled at Wal-Mart and it was so perfect. The kids loved it and they couldn't have fit any better in it .
There is a small raveen that usally has water in it on the property . This weekend there was no water but instead solid ice. It was the perfect place to create a hill for sledding. David would carefully pull Stratton up the hill over and over again and Stratton loved it until he crashed once and then he was clearly done for the day. Put it this way if any snow got on his bare skin he would panic and scream as if he was being tortured. It was fun while it lasted ...

How fun! When we went up the week after there was still a lot of snow but it was crunchy... You are a real trooper taking Emerson out there in the snow, I only ventured out while Dale was asleep.
